Sydney Cup favourite Kelinni shares the top line of betting with stablemate Hoylonny for Saturday’s Listed 2013 JRA Plate (2000m) at Randwick.
The import is having a final tune up ahead of Saturday week’s Sydney Cup and is coming off a fourth-place effort in the BMW.
Like Kelinni, Hoylonny hasn’t won this preparation but was a strong second behind Lights Of Heaven in the Group 3 Neville Sellwood Stakes last start.
Waller has four runners in the field and other chances of his include Lunayir ($7) and Said Com ($11).
Said Com showed promise when third in the Neville Sellwood but Lunayir will have to improve considerably from an eighth-place finish in that race.
At $10 is consistent mare Fibrillation who is coming off a fourth-place finish to Aliyana Tilde in the Epona Stakes.
The Tim Martin-trained mare is a dual black-type winner but will have to overcome a barrier 12 draw.
Scream Machine ($16) was strong without luck in the Doncaster Prelude and is likely to improve stepping up to his pet distance this weekend.
The Jason Coyle-trained four-year-old is a two-time winner over 2000m but is still chasing his first stakes win.
There is only one last-start winner in the field and that is Tony McEvoy’s import Sysmo ($17).
The four-year-old has shown promise since arriving at McEvoy’s stable but has thus far failed to break through at stakes level.
The son of My Risk is coming off a mid-week win at Canterbury which was preceded by a runner-up finish at Bendigo.
Others in the JRA Plate field include Ron Quinton’s consistent mare Crafty Irna ($12) and Craig Carmody-trained gelding Single ($16).
