South Australian Sires’ Produce Stakes 2013 – Final Field and Barrier Draw

The final field has been released for the Group 3 2013 South Australian Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) which will take place as the feature race at Morphetville on Saturday.

Restricted to two-year-olds, the eight-horse field contains two last-start winners, Excites Zelady from the stable of Chris Bieg and Tony McEvoy’s in-form gelding The Voice.

After a rocky start to his career Excites Zelady showd his potential when winning the Group 3 Breeders’ Stakes by a length on April 6.

The Voice is yet to finish worse than second in three starts and is coming off a 1 1/2 length win at Balaklava last week.

Last month the son of Northern Meteor finished a close second in the $100,000 Morphetville Magic Millions Classic.

With two starts for two seconds is Good Journey gelding It And  A Bit who is making his city debut after trailing The Voice home at Balaklava.

One of the more experienced runners in the field is Murtle Turtle who has had five career starts.

The John Hyam-trained filly has only won once but is yet to finish worse than fourth, only missing a placing on one occasion.

At her last start Murtle Turtle was second in the Breeders’ Stakes.

Victorian trainer David Hayes will send Shamardal filly to Adelaide for the race after she was beaten three lengths when eighth in the Magic Night Stakes at Rosehill last month.

A debut winner at Listed level in the spring, Bulbula was also second in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes at Flemington in March.

Rounding out the field for the Adelaide feature are Nick Smart’s debut place-getter Smackwater Jack and the Robbie Laing-trained Polanski.

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve got a winner picked at Adelaide, Sydney or any other venue, great odds will be available at bookmaker.com.au!
