Snitzerland Included in 2013 Gosford Guineas Nominations

Gerald Ryan’s star sprinting filly Snitzerland has been included as part of a strong nominations list for Sunday’s Listed $250,000 2013 Gosford Guineas (1200m).

Twenty six horses have been entered for the three-year-old sprint but Snitzerland is the clear standout.

The daughter of Snitzel has picked up where she left off after a strong spring campaign, winning the Group 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m) and finishing second in the Group 1 Galaxy.

She is one of four Ryan-trained entrants, joined by Red Excitement, Amorino and Laughing.

Another trainer with a strong presence in nominations is Anthony Cummings who has nominated Your Song, Agueda and Diamond Earth.

Your Song is yet to run this autumn but is well regarded, having placed twice at Group level during the spring.

A number of horses nominated for the Gosford Guineas will be stepping out for new trainers including Ashokan and Boban.

Ashokan, formerly trained by John O’Shea, has joined Gai Waterhouse’s star team while Boban has been transferred to Chris Waller from Anthony Freedman.

Boban has had one start under Waller, finishing fourth in a BM70 event at Randwick.

O’Shea may have lost Ashokan but he still has a strong entrant in the race in Hoss Amor.

The General Nediym filly was second to Snitzterland in the Group 3 Champagne Stakes during the spring after a strong Brisbane Winter Carnival where she won three times at Listed level.

Another quality filly included in nominations is the Allan Denham-trained Ichihara.

Also by General Nediym, she will have to bounce back from a last-start 12th but is a winner of five of 12 starts including a Group 2 and two Listed races.

The final field for the Gosford Guineas will be released on Thursday.

With Doncaster Day taking place at Randwick on Saturday, there has never been a better time to sign up at bookmaker.com.au who are fully Australian-owned and operated.

With great odds up for grabs on all the autumn action and a $500 bonus bet for new customers, it is little wonder they are the preferred bookie of Races.com.au!
