Trained by Peter Moody, Kulgrinsa was having her fifth race start at Morphettville, having one two previous occasions.

Kulgrinda showed her class as she flew home in the final stages of the 2013 RN Irwin Stakes, snatching the win from second place-getter Platelet on the line.

Avoid Lightning has passed the post in third place, while Meadows Jim finished in fourth position.

Kulgrinda was paying odds of $8 to win the 2013 RN Irwin Stakes, while Platelet was the $6 favourite.

Platelet has won five of her 16 race starts and has earned more than $350,000 in prize money during her horse racing career.
