2013 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes Nominations Feature Overreach

A total of 100 two-year-olds have been nominated for a start in the 2013 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Royal Randwick Racecourse this Saturday April 13, 2013.

Last weekend’s Golden Slipper winner, Overreach, will back-up in the 2013 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes this weekend.

Overreach won the $3.5 million Golden Slipper by almost two lengths on the slow 7 track, and the Exceed And Excel filly will be out to continue her flawless autumn carnival in the 2013 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained filly has won three of her four race starts in total and has earned more than $2.26 million in prize money during her short horse racing career.

Stable mate Sweet Idea will also line up for the 2013 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Sweet Idea placed a gallant third in the Golden Slipper last start and will be looking to turn the tables on Overreach in their next start.

The Snitzel filly has won two of her six race starts and has earned more than $825,000 in prize money so far.

Waterhouse is confident that both fillies will be competitive in the 2013 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes after recovering well from their Golden Slipper assignment.

“There’s no reason not to run them. They had their heads in their buckets eating ferociously,” Waterhouse said.

Champollion and Whiskey Allround are also included in the 2013 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes nominations.
