The winner of two of 11 starts is expected to improve with the step up in distance and drop back in class after running fifth and sixth in the Hobartville Stakes and the Randwick Guineas respectively.
Just behind him are Victorian colt Philippi ($4.80) and Gai Waterhouse’s in-form colt Hippopus ($5).
Philippi has won three of six starts and ran a strong second in the Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes at Moonee Valley last start.
Hippopus rises in grade but brings terrific form with him after putting together dominant back-to-back victories at Canterbury.
Also under double figures is Philippi’s stablemate High Shot who is considered an $8 chance.
The Mick Kent-trained colt won on debut at Cranbourne in October but is yet to finish better than sixth in three starts this autumn.
At $15 is Solemn who is a Listed level winner but will need to bounce back from a sixth-place finish in the Rosehill Guineas where he was beaten by nearly 10 lengths.
Also needing to reverse their form to be any chance of tasting success this weekend is Indianpolis ($17) who is one of three Waterhouse-trained runners in the field.
Also stepping out for the high profile Sydney trainer is King Of Olympia who is an outside hope at $51 and coming off a third-place finish at Canterbury.
Other horses in the Tulloch Stakes field include John O’Shea’s gelding Twisted Emotions ($17), in-from Victorian Air Striker ($17) and last-start winner Laser Flash ($21).
