Epona Stakes 2013 – Final Field and Barrier Draw

A bumper day of racing takes place at Rosehill this Saturday and one the key support races to the big Group 1 events is the Group 3 2013 Epona Stakes (1900m).

A strong 14-horse field has been named to contest the $125,000 fillies and mares’ event including Peter Moody-trained mare Thy who is coming off a win in the Aspiration Quality.

Ron Quinton has accepted with Aspiration Quality runner-up Crafty Irna who has established a reputation as a solid Group performer in recent times.

The five-year-old won the Listed Tattersall’s Club Cup in the spring and finished in the minor placings twice at Group level.

Tim Martin’s mare Fibrillation returns for the race she won last year and arrives on the back of a third-place finish at Rosehill on March 2.

Australian Oaks runner-up Aliyana Tilde hasn’t won in over a year but was solid when third in the Aspiration Quality.

Travelling south from Queensland to make their black-type debut is Dolly Dolly who is coming off a four-length win at the Gold Coast.

Bringing solid form into the race is Darley-owned four-year-old Sindarin who backed up a third-place finish at Warwick Farm to finish third in the Canberra Cup.

The Redoute’s Choice mare has won three of 15 starts but looks suited to the race as two of those have come over 1800m and 1900m.

Heading into the race with a victory behind them is Bold Sari who won at Gosford last start.

Other horses in the field include Mick Kent’s mare Apingle and Peter Moody’s French import Never Forget.

Rosehill presents a bumper day of racing this weekend and the best place to back a winner is bookmaker.com.au!

The Australian-owned bookie has sensational odds and is currently rewarding new customers with a $400 bonus bet offer which can be split up to four ways!
