Criterion Headlines 2013 Todman Stakes Nominations

Criterion will continue his path towards the $3.5 million Golden Slipper when he lines up for the Group 2 Todman Stakes at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse this Saturday March 23, 2013.

The two-year-old won the Listed Black Opal Stakes in Canberra last start, qualifying him for a start in the Group 1 Golden Slipper on April 6.

Criterion has now won two of his three race starts and has earned more than $208,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

The Sebring colt’s only defeat came when third to Never Can Tell and Whittington in the Listed Canonbury Stakes at Rosehill gardens Racecourse in February.

Criterion is trained at Rosehill racecourse by David Payne and will have the home track advantage in the 2013 Todman Stakes.

Also included in the 2013 Todman Stakes nominations is Never Can Tell, who beat Criterion to the post in the Canonbury Stakes.

Never Can Tell will be looking to come back from his unfortunate last placing in the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes at Rosehill last start.

The result came on a Heavy-rated track, eluding to the fact that he may not have handled the conditions.

Never Can Tell has won two of his three race starts and has earned more than $108,000 in prize money during his short career.

Fast ‘N’ Rocking and Charlie Boy are also included in the 2013 Todman Stakes nominations.
