2013 Phar Lap Stakes – Nominations Announced

The Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes will run at Rosehill Gardens racecourse this Saturday March 23, 2013, and nominations have now been released for the race.

19 three-year-olds have nominated for a run in the 2013 Phar Lap Stakes, including Proisir.

Proisir has won three of his seven race starts and has earned more than $489,000 in prize money during his short horse racing career.

The Choisir colt finished third in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes first-up this autumn racing carnival, before placing a close second to It’s A Dundeel in last Saturday’s Group 1 Royal Randwick Guineas.

Proisir is trained by Gai Waterhouse at Royal Randwick Racecourse and is on his way towards a start in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile on April 20, 2013.

Also included in the 2013 Phar Lap Stakes nominations is Honorius, who will be third-up in the race.

Honorius will be looking to reclaim his form in the 2013 Phar Lap Stakes after placing 19 lengths last in the Hobartville Stakes last start.

Prior to that, he finished eighth of nine runners in the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes at Rosehill Gardens.

Honorius has won two of his 14 race starts and has earned more than $219,000 in prize money during his career.

Albrecht and Flying Snitzel are also included in the 2013 Phar Lap Stakes nominations.
