Gerald Ryan’s classy filly Snitzerland has beaten a hot field to score the biggest win of her career in the Group 2 2013 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Warwick Farm today.

The three-year-old began brilliantly in a race that was always going to be run at a strong tempo and featured grand sprinter Hay List.
In his first race in nearly 12 months, Hay List led into the turn but Snitzerland quickly over took him and then there was no stopping her.
The 2012 Golden Slipper runner-up accelerated tremendously despite the hot early speed and bounded clear to claim a three-length win from Decision Time and Howmuchdoyouloveme.
Ryan said the daughter of Snitzel is bigger and stronger than the horse that has been seen in the past.
“She’s very quick. Today was probably her biggest test,” Ryan said.
“She’s come back a better filly and a stronger filly.
“She kicked off the corner, maintained it all the way to the line and ran a track record in doing it.”
Jockey Corey Brown was impressed by Snitzerland’s performance but is confident there is improvement to come ahead of some Group 1 autumn targets.
“When I released her about the 300 [metre mark], I thought they are going to be have to be really, really good to come back and beat me,” Brown said.
“She’s got a bit of improvement in her…onwards and upwards.”
Snitzerland’s likely next start is expected to come in the Group 1 2013 Galaxy (1100m) on March 30 at Rosehill.
The three-year-old’s career record stands at seven wins from 12 starts.
