Skyline Stakes 2013 – Preview and Tips

The 2013 Golden Slipper build-up continues at Warwick Farm on Saturday with some key juvenile races and one of those is the Group 3 2013 Skyline Stakes (1200m) for colts and geldings.

Current favourite is Good Job Bro ($3.40) who will be out to back up a strong three-length win at Warwick Farm last month.

Fuerza, from the in-form stable of Bjorn Baker, is next best at $4.20 while Dothraki ($6) and All The Talk ($6) share the third line of betting.

Unraced Peter Moody-trained colt Mahican is considered a $6.50 chance on the basis of an impressive trial while Queenslander Octane Flyer ($16) is the next best in the market.

The Winner

#3 All The Talk $6

The scorebook says he was beaten four lengths to finish fourth at his last start but the performance was much better than that.

Was forced to work incredibly hard early in the Silver Slipper on a heavy 9 track and produced a tremendous effort to hang on to finish where he did.

Finished in the top three in preceding starts and meets an easier field than he faced last time out here.

The Placings

#2 Fuerza $4.20 and #4 Good Job Bro $3.40

Fuerza is yet to win from two starts but has come agonisingly close both times.

Was a narrow second to stablemate Twilight Royale on debut in December and that form has since been franked as Twilight Royale has won both the Inglis Premier at Mornington and the Group 2 Sires’ Produce Stakes at Flemington.

Only went under a short head at her only other start in the $250,000 Inglis Classic at Rosehill.

Good Job Bro looks to be improving every start and looks well placed here to back up his three-length victory at the track last month.
