Nominations Announced – 2013 Alister Clark Stakes

The Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes are scheduled to run at Moonee Valley Racecourse this Friday March 15, 2013, and here you will find the latest nominations for the race.

Amongst the nominations for the $220,000 Alister Clark Stakes is Hvasstan.

The three-year-old will be having his third race start this autumn carnival, after failing to win either of his first two autumn attempts.

Hvasstan placed eighth in the Group 2 Autumn Stakes first-up, before placing fourth of 15 runners in the Group 1 Australian Guineas on March 2, 2013.

He will now attempt to claim victory in the 2013 Alister Clark Stakes, which will mark the colt’s first appearance at Moonee Valley.

Hvasstan has won three of his nine race starts and has earned more than $270,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

The Fastnet Rock colt is trained by Peter Gelagotis at Moe and will be be looking to claim his first win over the 2,040 metre distance.

Sheer Talent is also included in the 2013 Alister Clark Stakes nominations.

The Redoute’s Choice colt won the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes by almost a length last month, before placing third in the Group 1 Australia Guineas.

In total, Sheer Talent has won two of his six starts and has earned more than $155,000 so far.

Philippi is also included in the 2013 Alister Clark Stakes nominations.
