The Darren Weir-trained import has drawn the inside barrier for his first-up test where he will be ridden by Glen Boss.

Boss was enthusiastic when singing the entire’s praises during the spring after partnering him to huge wins in the Bendigo Cup and the Group 3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

After winning by eight lengths in Bendigo, Puissance De Lune got many excited about his Melbourne Cup chances when he put paid to his Queen Elizabeth Stakes rivals by five lengths.

Chasing a third consecutive victory is Mick Price’s emerging gelding Dany The Fox who will jump from the outside barrier.

The four-year-old was last seen winning the Kilmore Cup on February 24 and has impressed with six wins from 13 starts to begin his career.

Stablemate and fellow four-year-old Callanish will back up just seven days after finishing third in the Listed TAB Stakes.

The Fastnet Rock gelding won the first eight starts of his career before the streak ended when he finished eighth in Group 1 company in the CF Orr Stakes.

Also in good form is David Jolly-trained gelding Budriguez who put together back-to-back victories before running third in the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes.

Veteran Michael Moroney-trained gelding Wall Street has shown he still has plenty left to give with a fourth-place finish in the CF Orr Stakes and a second in the Kilmore Cup.

Other horses contesting the Blamey Stakes include 2010 Melbourne Cup runner-up Maluckyday, Peter Moody-trained stayer Vatuvei and Guy Walter’s Willy Jimmy.
