Betting for the 2018 Group 1 $700,000 Altus...
Melbourne has All Too Hard and the Australian Guineas this weekend but plenty of eyes will be on Sydney for the return of Pierro in the Group 2 2013 Hobartville Stakes (1400m).
The triple Group 1 winner is a short-priced $1.85 favourite to get his autumn campaign off to a flyer but lines up in a strong field of three-year-olds.
Second favourite is Rebel Dane ($4.50) who is unbeaten from four starts while Pierro’s stablemate Proisir ($5.50) is the next best.
No other runner falls under double figures but Mulaazem ($12) travels from Melbourne to chase a third consecutive win.
Former New Zealand colt Sacred Falls ($21) will attempt to bounce back from a first-up fifth while It’s A Dundeel ($26) kicks off his Australian Derby campaign.

#1 Pierro $1.85
Nobody likes to tip the short-priced favourite but it’s tough to look past Pierro here.
His record speaks for itself. Eight wins from 10 starts, three at Group 1 level and Group 1 placings in the Cox Plate and Caulfield Guineas.
Should simply have too much class for his rivals as he moves on to bigger and better things.
With an expected wet track, happy to throw Mulaazem into the top three.
His last couple of wins have come on good tracks but in the winter he won by 10 lengths at Sandown on a heavy 10.
Coming off a strong win in the Group 2 Autumn Stakes at a distance he has succeeded at twice before.
Rebel Dane has impressed plenty with four unbeaten starts to date including a stunning Royal Sovereign Stakes victory two weeks ago where he flew home from the back on a difficult track.
