Millie Fox Stakes 2013 – Betting Odds

A bumper day of racing is set to take place at Rosehill this Saturday and one of the key races on the program is the Group 3 2013 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m).

A quality 12-horse field of mares will contest the $125,000 event with defending champion Red Tracer the bookmaker.com.au favourite at $2.20.

The five-year-old is a consistent galloper and is likely to have improved off a first-up run where she finished second in the Group 2 Thoroughbred Breeders’ Classic at Rosehill on February 16.

A daughter of Dane Shadow, Red Tracer has won nine times from 23 starts and placed on another nine occasions.

Included in that are six victories at stakes level with her career highlight beating the males in the Group 2 Premiere Stakes in October.

Not far away in betting is Group 1 winner Secret Admirer ($3.80) who will carry the topweight of 59.5kg for her autumn campaign opener.

To taste success this weekend the five-year-old will have to break a drought that began in October 2011.

Secret Admirer has not won since the 2011 Epsom Handicap but recorded a number of Group 1 placings last autumn and in the spring.

Driefontein ($6) is the only other runner under double figures. The former Magic Millions Classic winner has been solid without victory in three starts this campaign and is coming off a fourth-place finish in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes.

Coming off a fourth-place finish in the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Classic and likely to appreciate a possible wet track is Joe Pride’s mare Ladys Angel ($11).

The six-year-old placed at Group 1 level in the Group 1 Galaxy last autumn.

Also contesting the Millie Fox Stakes are stayer Crafty Irna ($21), Gerald Ryan’s filly Flying Snitzel ($26) and Team Hawkes-trained mare Tavarnelle ($34).

A huge weekend in both Sydney and Melbourne ahead so ensure you are accessing great odds by betting at bookmaker.com.au.

The Races.com.au preferred bookie is giving new customers the chance to get off to an autumn flyer with a $400 bonus bet offer that you can take advantage of by joining quoting the code BONUSBET!
