Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
All Too Hard will have to overcome a wide barrier 14 draw if he is to make the 2013 Australian Guineas (1600m) his third consecutive Group 1 victory at Flemington on Saturday.
The superstar colt has been a standout performer throughout the early autumn with wins against the older horses in the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes and the Group 1 Futurity Stakes.
The Futurity win on Saturday was particularly impressive as he annihilated his rivals to the tune of 3 1/2 lengths.
The half-brother to Black Caviar has established himself as the country’s most valuable stallion prospect and will start an odds-on favourite when returning to his own age group this weekend.
While there are some quality gallopers in the field, no other runner has tasted success at Group 1 level.
The closest is Darley colt Albrecht who was a narrow second to stablemate Epaulette in the Golden Rose in September.
But the son of Redoute’s Choice has failed to rediscover that form so far this campaign, finishing sixth and seventh in two starts so far.
Coming off a strong win at stakes level is Mark Kavanagh’s colt Sheer Talent who won the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes at Flemington on February 16.
Facing a step up in class but in strong form is Jim Conlan-trained colt Ferlax who is unbeaten from three starts at country Victorian tracks.
Also stepping up is Mick Price-trained colt Ajeeb who was last seen winning at Sandown-Lakeside on February 20.
Greg Eurell has again accepted with in-form colts Force Command and Hosting in the same race.
The pair have finished second and third respectively in both the Listed Manfred Stakes and the Group 3 CS Hayes at their past two starts.
Others running in the Australian Guineas include Victoria Derby fourth Hvasstan and Michael Kent-trained pair Philippi and High Shot.
The great thing about the bookmaker.com.au bonus bet is it can be split up to four ways, allowing you to get more bang for your betting buck this autumn!
