Silver Slipper Stakes 2013 – Nominations

As the two-year-olds look towards the $3.5 million Golden Slipper in April, nominations have been announced for the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse this Saturday March 2, 2013.

17 two-year-olds make up the 2013 Silver Slipper Stakes nominations, including Gai Waterhouse’s Sweet Idea.

Sweet Idea has won one of her four race starts and has earned more than $395,000 in prize money.

The Snitzel filly will be having her first start in the 2013 Silver Slipper Stakes since finishing a close second to Real Surreal in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January.

Stable mate Overreach will also continue her Golden Slipper campaign with a run in the 2013 Silver Slipper Stakes this weekend.

Overreach has won one of her two race starts and has earned more than $81,000 in prize money during her short career.

The Exceed And Excel claimed her last win in the Listed Widden Stakes by an unbelievable six lengths at Rosehill Gardens on February 16.

Waterhouse has not been reserved when voicing her expectations for Overreach in the Golden Slipper, and believes she has what it takes to win the world’s richest race for two-year-olds.

Brilliant Bisc, Kuroshio and All The Talk are also included in the 2013 Silver Slipper Stakes nominations.
