Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
An open field of two-year-olds will contest the Listed 2013 Talindert Stakes (1100m) at Flemington with a number of unknown runners featuring in the $120,000 event.
Twelve horses will line up in what is the first race of the day at Flemington with unraced Anthony Freedman-trained filly Indulgence the market mover and favourite at $4.20.
Just behind the top elect are Kona Breeze and Casquets who share the second line of betting at $5.50.
Peter Moody-trained filly Kona Breeze has had more starts than any other runner in the race but is by no means experienced.
The daughter of Sebring has been solid but unable to break through so far, finishing second in all three starts of her career.
She has however handled rises in class with her debut coming at Echuca in January and her most recent outing in the Listed Chairman’s Stakes at Caulfield.
Casquets has only had one start but showed plenty of promise to finish third in the Sportingbet Plate at Moonee Valley on February 1.
The winner of that race, Gregers, will not run on Saturday but runner-up Annenberg ($7) will be lining up for the second start of her career.
Out to redeem a poor first-up effort is Politeness ($5) who finished fifth in the Sportingbet Plate despite debuting to plenty of hype.
The other runner to fall under double figures is David Hayes-trained colt Great Esteem who is another yet to step out on race day.
Also in the Talindert Stakes field are Excitable Boy ($10), last-start winner Hailin’ Diamonds ($15) and Sportingbet Plate fourth Essie’s Pride ($15).
