Restricted to three-year-old fillies, the $150,000 event is one of the key support races on “Black Caviar day” this weekend.

Kazanluk has drawn barrier seven for what will be her first race since emerging on the scene during the spring.

The Anthony Freedman-trained youngster won the Group 2 Fillies’ Classic at Moonee Valley in October and also placed in both the Listed Morphetville Guineas and the Listed Myer Spring Fashion Stakes.

Also having her first start since the spring is David Hayes’ stakes winner Alzora. The daughter of Redoute’s Choice won the Listed Etheral Stakes in October and also finished fifth in the Group 1 Crown Oaks.

Heading into the race in good form but facing a step up in class is Greg Eurell-trained galloper Petite Diablesse.

The daughter of Denon has won her past two starts but will still need to improve upon her performances which took place at both Kyneton and Ballarat.

Peter Moody’s filly Royal Scandal has also shown reasonable form recently, winning consecutive races at Pakenham and Ballarat before running fourth on city debut at Caulfield on February 2.

She is one of three Moody-trained runners in the field and will be joined by Are There Any and Baluch.

Danny O’Brien-trained daughter of Pins Spending won on debut at Flemington in January but will need to bounce back after finishing fifth at Caulfield in her most recent outing.

Others in The Vanity field include Nigel Blackiston-trained pair Shilly Shally Miss and You’re So Good and Robbie Griffiths Nadeem Lass.

Markets will open shortly on all this weekend’s exciting Flemington action and the best value odds can be found at bookmaker.com.au.
