The star three-year-old jumped a $2.30 favourite in his first-up test in the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes on Saturday and he justified the price to storm down the outside and claim victory by half a length from Mawingo and Mr Moet.

Co-trainer Wayne Hawkes was thrilled with the result but said the half-brother to Black Caviar will follow a program slightly different to what was expected.

“There’s probably not much he couldn’t do,” Hawkes said.

It was previously thought the son of Casino Prince would tackle the 2013 Australian Guineas but that is likely to be scrapped in favour of again taking on the older horses in the Group 1 2013 Futurity Stakes (1400m).

The Futurity will take place on February 23 at Caulfield which is likely to be the last Melbourne start of his autumn campaign.

While All Too Hard has now won two Group 1 races in Melbourne, doubts still exist over his ability to perform in the Sydney direction.

He produced three disappointing performances from three Sydney starts in the spring before heading to Melbourne to win the Caulfield Guineas and run second in the Cox Plate.

Hawkes is confident the future stallion prospect can transfer his success to the harbour city.

“I want him to win a big race in Sydney and show his knockers he’s just as good up there,” he said.

The exact schedule hasn’t been mapped out for All Too Hard but it is believed he is likely to run in the 2013 Randwick Guineas on March 16 and the 2013 George Ryder Stakes on April 6.

It will be his last racing campaign in Australia as he will then head to Europe in an attempt to further increase his value as a stallion before commencing stud duties in Australia later this year.
