Rubiton Stakes 2013 – Betting Preview and Tips

Group 1 action returns at Caulfield on Saturday with 2013 CF Orr Stakes Day and one of the key support races on the card is the Group 3 2013 Rubiton Stakes (1100m).

Current favourite is Queensland gelding Adebisi ($3) but he is only slightly ahead of Anthony Freedman’s last-start winner Rescue Mission ($3.10).

Many of these horses are likely to go on to bigger things throughout the autumn and among those could be Outlandish Lad ($4.20) and Shanghai Warrior ($6).

Others contesting the Rubition Stakes include Mister Milton ($13), Diplomatic Force ($17) and Big Buddie ($26).

Not sure who to back in the Rubition Stakes? Don’t have time to do the form? Then keep reading as the Races.com.au experts have been hard at work to bring to you our very best betting selections.

To Win

#6 Shanghai Warrior $6.00

Ignore his past two back-field finishes as he had a spring affected by illness. This four-year-old gelding is a genuine horse of the future and his record of five wins from 11 starts is testament to that.

Wont he Group 3 Aurie’s Star Handicap in a handy field in July prior to his health troubles and if he can run close to that he could have too much talent for his rivals.

To Place

#1 Adebisi $3.00

Just seven horses in the field which means just the one place spot up for grabs. Hard to look past this Queenslander who is lightning fast and a genuine short-trip specialist.

Has fitness and form on his side after winning the Razor Sharp Quality at Warwick Farm in December and is a genuine short-trip specialist.

Electric out of the gates and will take some catching.
