Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
Last-start winners Adebisi and Rescue Mission are unsplittable at the top of the Group 3 2013 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) betting market.
The pair share the top line of betting at $3 for the $150,000 event with both heading into the race with strong form behind them.
Anthony Freedman-trained four-year-old Rescue Mission has chalked up two wins and two seconds from his past four starts including getting accustomed to the Caulfield track with a narrow victory in the BMW Handicap on January 26.
Queensland gelding Adebisi travels south for the hit-out after scoring a strong win in the Listed Razor Sharp Quality at Warwick Farm on December 22.
The Desleigh Forster-trained front-runner is a four-time stakes winner and is likely to be aimed at bigger races throughout the autumn.
Outlandish Lad ($4.20) is just behind the pair in the market and while he can be inconsistent he was strong last start when finishing third in the Group 2 Australia Stakes.
Shanghai Warrior ($6) is returning after an illness-affected spring preparation but has shown the ability to succeed at this level.
How he comes back after finishing towards the back of the field in both the Bobbie Lewis Quality and the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes will be interesting but early in the spring he showed his talent with a win in the Group 3 Aurie’s Star Handicap.
There are just three other runners in the field and all are over double figures with Mr Milton the next best at $12.
The Mornington gelding has only won once from 20 starts but showed his talent in the spring with a fourth to Sincero in the Group 2 Memsie Stakes.
Others in the market include Diplomatic Force ($17) and Big Buddie ($26).
