Perth galloper Mr Moet is ready and raring to go ahead of his east-coast debut in the Group 1 2013 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
The five-year-old arrived in Melbourne on Friday and is stabled at Mornington with Jason Warren where he will remain for his entire Victorian campaign.
Trainer Adam Durrant admits Saturday’s 1400-metre test is a touch short of ideal but is confident he can produce a strong first-up showing.
“His past three preparations he’s won his first up run and two of those have been at 1400 but against far inferior opposition obviously,” Durrant told Racing Victoria.
“I couldn’t have dreamed that he’d have travelled over any better.”
Durrant is planning to test his stable star in the new G1 championship, which begins on Saturday with the Orr and continues with the Group 2 2013 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on February 23 and the Group 1 2013 Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on March 9.
The son of Mosayter makes the trip east on the back of an outstanding campaign at the Perth Summer Racing Carnival.
He won the Group 1 Railway Stakes and the Group 2 CB Cox Stakes and also finished runner-up in both the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic and the Group 2 Perth Cup.
Mr Moet forms part of a strong Perth contingent who are travelling east for the autumn.
Also making the journey is Kingston Town Classic winner Luckygray who will run first-up in the 2013 Newmarket Handicap and undefeated sprinter Barakey.
Barakey, a winner of 11 unbeaten starts, is expected to run first-up in the 2013 Oakleigh Plate on February 23 before also contesting the Newmarket.
