Golden Archer Included in 2013 Rubiton Stakes Nominations

Golden Archer

Golden Archer is one of the top nominations for the Rubiton Stakes

The four-year-old entire may live in the shadow of celebrity stablemate Black Caviar but he has built a reputation as a serviceable stakes performer.

The son of Rock Of Gibraltar has had 17 starts from which he has managed to win eight times and secure five other minor placings.

He is coming off a consistent spring campaign where he won two of seven starts but also placed in the Group 3 Aurie’s Star Handicap and the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes.

Golden Archer is one of 14 horses nominated for the Rubiton Stakes which is one of nine races on a bumper 2013 CF Orr Stakes Day card.

There are plenty of other quality sprinters entered including Australia Stakes winner Sea Lord.

The five-year-old is now a dual stakes winner after also taking out the Listed Chandler Macleod Stakes during the Spring Carnival.

Another with proven black-type credentials is seven-year-old gelding Outlandish Lad who won the Group 3 DC McKay Stakes at Morphetville last April.

The Dennis O’Leary-trained galloper will be out to turn the tables on Sea Lord after finishing third in the Australia Stakes.

Queensland gelding Adebisi will be given the chance to make more southern success after taking our the Listed Razor Sharp Quality at Warwick farm in December.

The Desleigh Forster-trained front-runner is a genuine speedster and is a three-time stakes winner.

Anthony Freedman-trained four-year-old Rescue Mission will be given the chance to step up in class after winning at Caulfield on Australia Day.

Others nomintated for the Rubiton Stakes include Darley gelding Skytrain, Bendigo mare She’s Ellie and Aurie’s Star Handicap winner Shanghai Warrior.
