Exciting Adelaide filly Miracles Of Life has stormed into favouritism for the 2013 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) after a dominant victory in the 2013 Blue Diamond Stakes Fillies Preview at Caulfield on Saturday.
The Daniel Clarken-trained youngster arrived in Melbourne with two big victories behind her and quickly showed she could step up against better competition.
The daughter of Not A Single Doubt was never challenged in the straight, dashing clear to take her unbeaten streak to three with a 4 1/2 length romp.
She has now been installed as a $3.80 2013 Blue Diamond betting favourite, with fellow weekend winner Guelph the next best at $8.
While Guelph wasn’t quite as dominant as Miracles Of Life, she was a clear standout in the Vinery Plate (1000m) at Warwick Farm, justifying a short starting price with a one-length win.
Trainer Peter Snowden is expecting her to improve for her final lead-up run in the 2013 Blue Diamond Fillies Prelude on February 9.
“She’s a pretty tractable filly and might be a bit sharper next time,” Snowden said.
The pair are the only two currently under double figures in the market for the $1 million two-year-old feature that will take place at Caulfield on February 23.
Others towards the top of the Blue Diamond pre-post market are Saturday’s Blue Diamond colts and geldings preview third placegetter Thermal Current ($10) and Metastasio who debuted with a 2 1/2 length win at Flemington on January 19.
Spruik colt Crack A Roadie is yet to kick off his autumn campaign but also features reasonably high in betting at $15.
The Stephen Theodore-trained colt turned heads with a last-to-first win at Moonee Valley on debut in October and was a narrow runner-up in the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington before heading to the paddock for a brief spell.
Others in the Blue Diamond market include Gai Waterhouse-trained pair Whittington ($19) and Overreach ($21).
