Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
Clear pre-post Blue Diamond Stakes favourite Miracles Of Life has failed to scare off the contingent of the other three-year-old fillies heading towards the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival feature with 11 others nominated for this Saturday’s Blue Diamond Fillies Preview 2013 at Caulfield Racecourse.
While she is not currently entered for the $1 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m), running on February 23, Daniel Clarken’s speedy Adelaide based Not A Single Doubt filly Miracles Of Life is dominating the futures betting on the classic at bookmaker.com.au.
Undefeated with two Morphettville wins to her name she pays $7.50 to win the million dollar feature, her most recent effort being a flawless nine length romp.
She makes her interstate debut this Saturday in the $120,000 Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies) (1000m) facing a number of challenges including the travelling and facing off against six other undefeated fillies.
The other youngsters yet to taste defeat, all of which won their debut runs, are:
- Diamond Glow & Mystical Miss (Peter Moody)
- Bulbula (David Hayes)
- Swing Vote (Gai Waterhouse)
- Montsegur (Peter Snowden)
- Donna Madeira (Pat Carey)
With entries from all the big name trainers this year’s Blue Diamond Fillies Preview is certainly shaping up as a show stopper.
Of the above the next shortest-priced in the Blue Diamond Stakes odds is Snowden’s New Approach filly Montsegur who, like Miracles Of Life, is not currently entered for the February clash.
Connections have until January 29 to pay the $55,000 late Diamond entry, Darley Australia hoping Montsegur will earn that with a win on Saturday following her blistering three and a half length win over the track and distance on debut on Boxing Day.
The Moody-trained Bel Esprit filly Diamond Glow is also well supported despite not being nominated at a quote of $21 for the Blue Diamond after she too won her Caulfield debut with a one and a quarter length effort in excellent time on January 5 in the Gold Carrot.
Along with Diamond Glow and last start Ballarat winner Mystical Miss Moody has also nominated for the unraced Bells A Ringing in the Saturday race.
Another $21 Blue Diamond 2013 chance nominated for the Preview on Saturday is then the Mick Price-trained daughter of Stratum Kerr who debuts on the weekend with no previous trial experience to go on.
Price is chasing back-to-back Diamonds this autumn having taken out the feature 12 months ago with his classy daughter of More Than Ready Samaready who is nearing a return to racing this autumn.
The Caulfield horseman also won last year’s BD Fillies Preview with Malasun who won on debut before bombing out when sixth in the Prelude a fortnight later.
Check out the latest Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies) nominations, which have been extended until 10:00am (AEST) on Tuesday, in the table below.
