2013 Blue Diamond Stakes Odds Released

The futures Blue Diamond Stakes 2013 odds have been released at the Races.com.au team’s preferred online bookie bookmaker.com.au with the non-nominated Miracles Of Life the clear early favourite for the two-year-olds’ classic.

NSW Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes winner Whittington is one of the early fancies for next month's Blue Diamond Stakes 2013

Daniel Clarken’s undefeated Adelaide filly entered the picture for next month’s $1 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m), set to light up Caulfield Racecourse on February 23, after successive Morphettville wins this summer.

Her most recent was a simply sensational nine length romp over 1050m in a 2YO’s handicap on January 5 which she has reportedly come through well.

Clarken will travel Miracles Of Life over to Melbourne in just under two weeks’ time for the daughter of Not A Single Doubt to contest the Blue Diamond Preview, after which a decision will be made whether or not connections will pay the $55,000 late entry for the big event.

Even though she is not currently among the list of 2013 Blue Diamond Stakes entries Miracles Of Life is dominating the markets paying $7.

Occupying the second line of Blue Diamond Stakes betting is then the Gai Waterhouse-trained Overreach at $13, the Exceed And Excel filly having had just the one run to date when second in the Inglis Debutants Stakes back in October last year.

The next best fancied juveniles in these early odds are then:

  • Whittington ($15) – Another Waterhouse runner, this Tale Of The Cat colt debuted with a good win in the NSW Thoroughbred Breeders Plate at Royal Randwick on October 6 last year and caught the eye again with a winning trial at the track earlier this month
  • Apple Thief ($17) – Unraced Peter Moody-trained Real Saga colt showed promise in their first official hitout back in September but nothing on them since
  • Crack A Roadie ($17) – Stephen Theodore’s progressive Charge Forward colt won the Inglis Banner at Moonee Valley during the Cox Plate carnival on debut before their devastatingly close second when just nudged out of the Group 3 HKJC Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) at Flemington on Emirates Stakes Day
  • Diamond Glow ($17) – Like the favourite this Moody runner isn’t nominated for the Blue Diamond but the Bel Esprit filly won the Gold Carat on debut at Caulfield on January 5 and is right in the mix should the late entry be paid by January 29
