The countdown to the 2013 Magic Millions Guineas is nearly over with the three-year-old feature set to jump at 2:45pm local time at the Gold Coast today.
The top three elects are all jostling for favouritism at bookmaker.com.au, with Queensland colt Sizzling ($4.50) a slight favourite ahead of No Looking Back ($4.60) and Driefontein ($5.50).
Winter Carnival star Sizzling is the undisputed best three-year-old in Queensland but showed a chink in his armour last start when he was beaten on the line in the Vo Rogue Plate.
Driefontein is another who will have to bounce back from a shock defeat, having finished second to She’s A Stalker in the Wyong Magic Millions 3Yo Stakes despite jumping as a $1.15 favourite.
No Looking Back has the chance to get revenge on Driefontein after she lost on protest in last year’s Magic Millions Classic and brings good form into the race with a first-up win in the Carrington Stakes in Sydney.
While no other runner falls under double figures in the Guineas market, that doesn’t mean there are no more chances.
Plenty of double-figure runners bring strong form into the race including underrated Queensalnd gallopers Hezajetsetter ($12) and Lucky Hussler ($14).
Both are coming out of the Vo Rogue Plate where Lucky Hussler scored the biggest win of his career to hold off Sizzling and Hezajetsetter produced an impressive run to take third despite being caught wide for much of the race.
Others in the Magic Millions Guineas field include the consistent Saluter ($15), Bruce Hill’s filly Caliente ($14) and stakes winner Hoss Amor ($17).
Great odds can be found on all the Magic Millions action by betting at bookmaker.com.au.
The Australian-owned bookie is preferred by Races.com.au due to their huge odds and $400 bonus bet offer for new customers.
