Blake Shinn has stood himself down from riding at the 2013 Magic Millions Carnival which has seen Glyn Schofield pick up the ride on 2013 Magic Millions Guineas fancy No Looking Back.
Shinn misses the meeting after he was forced to be relieved of his riding duties at Gosford on Thursday when he suffered from heat exhaustion.
It is disappointing for the Sydney hoop who has been in good form and even rode Cathay Lady to victory in the Listed Belle Of The Turf Stakes at Gosford before the heat exhaustion struck.
No Looking Back is the market mover at bookmaker.com.au for the $1 million Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) and is now favourite at $4.60 ahead of Sizzling ($4.80) and stablemate Driefontein ($5.50).
The Gai Waterhouse-trained filly will be out to exact revenge on Driefontein after being demoted from first place in last year’s Magic Millions campaign following a protest from the Driefontein camp.
After a successful two-year-old career in which she also finished second to Samaready in the Blue Diamond Stakes, No Looking Back finally had her first race as a three-year-old on New Year’s Day and did so in impressive style to win the Listed Carrington Stakes (1100m).
No Looking Back was put through her paces by stable foreman Mark Newnham in Brisbane on Thursday and is reportedly in excellent order for the Gold Coast hit-out.
No Looking back is one of six Waterhouse-trained runners across the Magic Millions card, with the top Sydney trainer having strong chances Certitude and Sweet Idea in the $2 million Magic Millions Classic.
