Assail stands as the short-priced favourite following her inside barrier draw for the 2013 Magic Millions Classic (1200m) which will take place at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
The Clarry Connors-trained filly is the $2.80 top elect at bookmaker.com.au for the $2 million two-year-old race where she will be ridden by globetrotting jockey Craig Williams.
Clevadude, who is considered to be on of the top challengers to Assail, drifted to $3.80 following the barrier draw after receiving little luck with a barrier 18 draw.
The pair are the two clear standouts in the market after notching up dominant victories in their first two starts to begin their careers.
Only two other horses currently sit under double figures, with Queensland fillies Missy Longstocking and Real Surreal both offered as $9 chances.
Missy Longstocking is unbeaten from four starts and received a favourable barrier five draw while the Kelso Wood-trained Real Surreal stormed into contention with a 3 1/2 length win at Eagle Farm on the weekend.
Wood is confident there are no concerns with backing up the filly just seven days after the win and she also received luck at the draw with barrier three.
Robert Heathcote’s sole Magic Millions contender Greytfilly ($13) is considered to have plenty of talent but has barrier problems which were evident during her second-place finish in the Ladies Day Handicap at the Gold Coast on New Year’s Day.
The market is not compressed at all, with Toowoomba colt Sir Luminar ($17) joining Greytfilly as one of two horses between $10 and $20.
Others contesting the Magic Millions include Gai Warerhouse-trained pair Sweet Idea ($21), Certitude ($21), Clockwise Classic winner I’m Too Sexy ($31) and fellow Victorians Calcatta ($41) and Ticket To Toorak ($51).
