Black Caviar On Track To Continue Career In 2013

All signs point to a return to racing for Black Caviar, with her sights firmly set on the 2013 autumn racing carnival.

Black Caviar has not had a race start since she claimed her first overseas victory in the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at England’s Royal Ascot Racecourse in June last year, where she sustained significant muscle tears.

The six-year-old has now returned to work ahead of her autumn preparation and is currently in pre-training with Peter Clarke.

Black Caviar is said to be on target for a 2013 autumn racing campaign.

Clarke is thrilled with Black Caviar’s recent progress and feels that she is well on her way to extending her unbeaten race record in the near future.

“She’s a big, strong girl now, probably bigger and stronger than she’s ever been, and I think probably the soundest she’s ever been,” Clarke said.

“She does have issues, but they are well and truly under control at the moment and as long as they stay that way we’ll have the joy of seeing her win more races.”

Black Caviar has won an extraordinary 22 race starts and is yet to be defeated in her impressive horse racing career.

Earning herself more than $6.2 million in prize money, the Bel Esprit mare has sprinted into the Australian public’s hearts and the horse racing record books alike.

Black Caviar is expected to take part in at least three race starts should she return for a farewell campaign, spanning over Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
