Erhart Out To Architect Perfect Magic Millions Assault

Architect has secured a place in the 2013 Magic Millions 2YO Classic final field after Purrific was scratched from the race with a minor knee injury.

The talented two-year-old is yet to win a race start, however, has placed in three of his five runs and has earned more than $35,000 in prize money during his short horse racing career.

Trainer Lorraine Erhart will enlist the help of jockey husband Tony Erhart as they attempt to win the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic this weekend.

“It’s a whole family affair and we have been in racing for a long time,” Lorraine said.

“Our boys are involved in it as well and ones a farrier and the other one has done a lot of chiropractor work on the horse.

“So it would be a big thrill for all of us if he could win, like it would be for anyone.”

The trainer feels that Architect is incredibly unlucky not to have a win against his name going into the Magic Millions.

His last start third placing came in the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes, where he finished behind Magic Millions 2YO Classic fancy Missy Longstockings.

“He was running into the other horses and if he had of went straight he could have won,” she said of his most recent run.

“That’s all to do with experience but I’m sure he will improve a bit on that run and hopefully his manners will too.

“Tony has ridden him a race now as well and it’s well documented that he is one of the best riders of two-year-olds in Queensland.”

Whether or not Architect can break his maiden in Queensland’s richest race is yet to be seen, with much riding on tomorrow’s barrier draw.
