Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
Group 1 winner Moment Of Change will have the chance to add another big win to his resume when he returns first-up in the Group 1 2013 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) on March 9.
Leading trainer Peter Moody has set the Newmarket as the comeback goal for the four-year-old who has not raced since winning the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes in September due to injury.
The son of Barely A Moment twisted a joint and was ruled out of the remainder of the Spring Carnival after impressing in three early spring starts.
He won the Show County Quality and finished third in the Tramway Handicap in Sydney before heading back to Melbourne to score a dominant Sir Rupert Clark Stakes win.
Rob Slade from Slade Bloodstock, who syndicate the talented gelding, told racingnetwork Moment Of Change has made a full recovery from his injury and is on track to target the Newmarket.
“There are very few suitable 1200-metre races around for him then, so we’ll go for the biggest one,” Slade said.
A winner of five of nine starts, Moment Of Change has collected over $415,000 in prizemoney in his young career.
Bought for $50,000 at the 2010 Magic Millions yearling, the exciting galloper has well and truly paid back his price tag.
He is soon to get back to more serious training as he is currently seven weeks into an eight-week water-walker program.
Other autumn targets on Moment Of Change’s radar include the 2013 George Ryder Stakes and the 2013 Doncaster Mile.
