No Looking Back Returns in 2013 Carrington Stakes on Way to Magic Millions

Gai Waterhouse-trained filly No Looking Back will have her first race as a three-year-old in Tuesday’s Listed 2013 Carrington Stakes (1100m) which will serve as a stepping stone towards a start in the $1 million 2013 Magic Millions Guineas on January 12.

No Looking Back (outside) returns on Tuesday in the Carrington Stakes

The daughter of Redoute’s Choice played no part in the spring after an excellent two-year-old campaign which saw her pick up $572,000 in prizemoney from four starts.

After winning on debut at Warwick Farm, No Looking Back headed to Queensland for the Magic Millions Classic where she was defeated by stablemate Driefontein in the $2 million juvenile feature.

She backed up that performance with another runner-up finish in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes before struggling when 10th in the Golden Slipper.

The lightly-raced filly has not raced since that day in April but has undergone two recent trials in order to prepare for Tuesday’s hitout.

If all things go to plan, No Looking Back will line up in the $1 million Magic Millions Guineas for which she is currently fourth favourite at at $10.00.

But first she will have to get through Tuesday’s test which features an eight-horse field that includes Darley pair Skytrain and Soledad as well as the unbeaten Maroney Avenune.

Scone-based Maroney Avenue will be having his first start in the city after winning the first six starts of his career at provincial and country tracks.

Skytrain is coming off a sixth-place finish in the Razor Sharp Handicap but is likely to take improvement out of the first-up hitout while Soledad returns after a consistent winter and early spring campaign that saw him finish in the top three in all six outings.

Also contesting the Carrington Stakes are Queensland gelding The Ringmaster and the Nick Olive-trained Zaratone.
