An action-packed card takes place at Doomben on Saturday as part of Brisbane’s Summer Series and one of the program highlights is the Listed 2012 Bernborough Handicap (1600m).
With $200,000 in prizemoney up for grabs, a strong 13-horse field has been announced which includes Robert Heathcote’s quality mares Fillydelphia and Fire Up Fifi.
Travelling from New South Wales to take on the Queenslanders is Paul Murray-trained gelding Alma’s Fury who will be backing up a week after running a narrow second in the Group 2 Villiers Stakes at Warwick Farm.
Others contesting the Bernborough Handicap include is last-start winner Mr Light Blue, former Sydney gelding Bid Spotter and the Peter Moody-trained Turnitup.

#9 Fire Up Fifi ($4.20)
This consistent mare from the Heathcote stable looks well placed to back up her Just Now Handicap win from two weeks ago.
Ran home strongly to win that race over 1300m in a performance that suggested she will improve even more as she gets up in distance.
The mile looks just about perfect here and she has drawn well in barrier five to get a plum run.
#3 Carry Me Bluey ($11) and #12 Danagaze ($17)
Toowoomba gelding Carry Me Bluey is yet to show his best this time in but is more than up to his level on his day and will be at full fitness running third-up here.
Is at his pet distance of the mile, three of his eight wins have come over the trip, and at double figures represents an excellent value place bet.
Danazagaze is another at a big price with plenty in his favour. The seven-year-old gelding is coming off a second-place finish at Eagle Farm two weeks ago and gets in well with the minimum weight (54kg) and a favourable barrier three draw.
