Jet Style Takes Out 2012 Recognition Stakes Win At Eagle Farm

Jet Style has continued his winning streak with a victory in the Listed Recognition Stakes at Eagle Farm Racecourse last Saturday December 1, 2012.

The six-year-old won the $80,000 race by a nose in front of Biggles, who placed a gutsy second in the race.

Triple Six placed third in the 2012 Recognition Stakes, while Shezahotshot passed the post in fourth position.

Jet Style has now won nine of his 31 race starts and has earned more than $230,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.

Jockey Chris Munce was at the helm to guide Jet Style to his latest race win.

“Even though he had to do a bit of work in the first furlong, once he got the lead he just pricked his ears, throttled back and did it easily,” said Munce.

“He came back underneath me beautifully and he was going half pace until we turned for home.

“Biggles got a good head in front of me but you’ve got to take your hat off to this bloke, he fights like a tiger.”

Jet Style’s trainer Donald Baker was pleased to see the partnership between Munce and the horse continue to flourish.

“Chris has had three rides on him for three wins and they really click together,” Baker said.

“It was pretty close at the finish but he’s a game horse and I knew he wouldn’t shirk it.”
