Sandown Guineas 2012 Features 18 Nominations

A total of 18 three-year-olds have nominated for the Group 2 Sandown Guineas at Sandown Racecourse this Saturday November 17, 2012.

Included in the 2012 Sandown Guineas nominations is Peter Snowden’s Tatra.

Tatra

Tatra is one of 18 nominations for the 2012 Sandown Guineas this weekend.

Tatra has won two of his 10 race starts and has earned more than $220,000 in prize money.

The Hussonet colt has showed great promise this preparation, placing second in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes at Flemington Racecourse on Victoria Derby Day.

While he has never won over the Sandown Guineas’ 1,600 metre distance, Tatra demonstrated he can handle the mile at his last start.

Tatra also won the Listed Ming Dynasty at Warwick Farm earlier this spring racing carnival and will be out to claim his first Group title when he runs in the 2012 Sandown Guineas this Saturday.

Also included in the 2012 Sandown Guineas nominations is Al Aneed, who placed sixth in the Carbine Club Stakes last start.

The More Than Ready colt won the Listed D’Urban Gothic Stakes in Melbourne two starts back and is in top form this campaign.

Al Aneed is trained at Caulfield Racecourse by trainer Mick Price and will also be searching for his first Group victory in the 2012 Sandown Guineas.

He has won two of his five race starts and has earned more than $90,000 during his short horse racing career.

Dances On Stars, Gold Medals and Lunar Rise are also included in the 2012 Sandown Guineas nominations.
