Melbourne Cup day might be over but the spring action is not even close to stopping and the crowds will be back at Flemington on Thursday for the Group 1 2012 Crown Oaks (2500m).
Otherwise known as the 2012 VRC Oaks, the best three-year-old staying fillies in the country will line up to compete for a share of $1 million in prizemoney.
Heading the market is Darley-owned filly Zydeco ($2.20) who is a strong favourite ahead of Clarry Connors-trained filly Dear Demi.
Only Summerbliss ($6) even comes close to the pair in betting with the next best after her Zucotto, Maraatib and Alzora who are all being offered at $21.

#2 Zydeco $2.20
Yes she’s short but it’s for good reason. The Anthony Freedman-trained youngster was dominant in the Wakeful Stakes on Saturday which has produced many Oaks winners in the past.
Drawn well in barrier seven here and has been set on an Oaks path and progressed nicely since she debuted in August.
By Zabeel and finish in the Wakeful gives every indication she will appreciate the staying trip.
Dear Demi is one of the more experienced runners in the field and was incredibly unlucky when fourth in the Wakeful Stakes.
Ran into traffic on a number of occasions and has already well and truly proven she is up to this grade.
Won the Group 2 Furious Stakes in September and has not finished worse than fourth in her last nine starts.
New Zealand filly Kate has not finished better than fifth since arriving in Australia in October but she has always been aimed at the Oaks.
Simply looks like a horse that wants further and gets that here. Looks the value runner in the race.
