Outstanding sprinting filly Snitzerland can run her way into the 2012 Patinack Farm Classic with a strong performance in the Group 1 2012 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) on Saturday.
The exciting youngster is unbeaten from four starts this spring and will start as a deserving favourite this Saturday at Flemington.
Trainer Gerald Ryan has kept the Snitzel filly ticking over since her convincing first-up win in August when she won the Group 3 San Domenico Stakes by two lengths.
The well-regarded Sydney trainer said the Patinack is definitely an option if Snitzerland can record a fifth straight win this weekend at a track she has shown a liking for in the past.
“If she wins really well and is still kicking her brands off on Monday then we will go on to the Patinack,” Ryan said.
The Golden Slipper runner-up has won two of three starts at Flemington including in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes in September where she recovered to beat Stralia after getting caught in an awkward position early in the race.
Snitzerland was one of the top juveniles of last season and is one of the few to make the often tough transition to three-year-old racing.
She boasts an outstanding record of six wins and two minor placings from nine starts and has collected more than than $1.3 million in prizemoney.
The Coolmore Stud Stakes is set to be a highly competitive race, with the trio who finished behind Snizterland last start in the Blue Sapphire among the contenders.
Those runners are Fire Thunderbolt, Lankan Rupee and Sizzling. Queensland colt Sizzling was one of the stars of the Brisbane Winter Carnival, going through his campaign unbeaten which included winning the Group 1 TJ Smith.
