Quality Sprinters Included in 2012 Salinger Stakes Nominations

A classy group of sprinters have been nominated for the Group 2 2012 Salinger Stakes (1200m) which will take place as part of a bumper 2012 Victoria Derby day card at Flemington this weekend.

Pampelonne is one of many quality nominations for the Salinger Stakes at Flemington on Saturday

It is only a Group 2 race but there are plenty of entrants who would not look out of place in the $1 million Patinack Farm Classic on Saturday week including talented Tim Martin-trained gelding Pampelonne.

The winner of five of nine starts is having his third start of the spring after winning the Group 2 Shorts (1200m) in Sydney first-up before running fourth to Buffering in the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (1200m).

Another big name set to line up in the Salinger this weekend is Joe Pride’s five-year-old sprinter Tiger Tees who boasts an outstanding record of nine wins and three minor placings from 14 starts.

The Dubawi gelding won the Group 3 Concorde Stakes (1100m) by three lengths at Warwick Farm first-up before finishing fourth in the Group 2 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley late last month.

An emerging horse who has shown he is ready to step up this spring is Howmuchdoyouloveme who won the Group 2 Caulfield Sprint (1200m) when leading from start to finish in his first Melbourne test.

Joining him from the Caulfield Sprint is third place-getter Latin News who has recently joined the Queensland stable of Bryan Dais after previously being based in Sydney.

Golden Archer will be out to continue his impressive spring form after top four finishes in five starts including a win in the Shark.com.au Stakes and a runner-up finish to Buffering in the Schillaci Stakes.

Others nominated for the Salinger Stakes include Stradbroke Handicap winner Mid Summer Music, Queensland entire Spirit Of Boom and the David Vandyke-trained Miss Marx.

A bumper card will take place at Flemington this Saturday and the best place to back a winner is bookmaker.com.au.

One of the great things about the Races.com.au preferred bookie is their $400 bonus bet offer which can be split up to four ways!
