Moonga Stakes 2012 Won By Whereverwhenever – Race 5 Results

Whateverwhenever has come out on top to win the 2012 Moonga Stakes at Caulfield racecourse today.

The Choisir mare won the 2012 Moonga Stakes race ahead of King’s Rose, who finished a close second, and McClintock, who passed the post in third.

Whateverwhenever

Whateverwhenever upsets the field to be the 2012 Moonga Stakes winner

Whateverwhenever has now won eight of her 25 race stars and has earned close to $260,000 in prize money.

The five-year-old was paying long odds of $17 to win the 2012 Moonga Stakes at bookmaker.com.au.

Trainer Liam Birchley’s stable representative, Brad Berwick, was thrilled with Whateverwhenever’s result.

“This mare has sort of jumped out of the ground this time in,” Berwick said.

“We’ll go onto Flemington now and if the skies open up I think we’ll be in the money again.

“I think Liam might have to look a bit higher (in class) now.

“She’s done a great job.”

Berwick was impressed Whateverwhenenver was able to out sprint the talented King’s Rose, who had been the $2 favourite to win the 2012 Moonga Stakes.

“We’ve beat them on our merits too,” he said.

Whateverwhenever’s most recent result prior to today’s 2012 Moonga Stakes win was a sixth placing in the Listed BMW Weekend Hussler Stakes at Caulfield Racecourse last weekend.

Prior to that, she had posted two impressive victories in Brisbane, where she is trained at Eagle Farm.

The classy mare was ridden by jockey Craig Williams in the 2012 Moonga Stakes, who will be looking to guide Dunaden to victory in the $2.5 million Caulfield Cup later today.
