The action at Caulfield gets underway today at 12:30pm (AEST) with the $120,000 Listed BMW Weekend Hussler Stakes (1400m) and the racing and betting will be going right through until race nine, the $120,000 Listed Sportingbet Sprint Series Final (1200m) for the mares, brings things to a close at 5:30pm (AEST).

The Caulfield race card is chock full of elite level racing with three majors set to steal the show, the first of which is the $400,000 Group 1 Caulfield Stakes (2000m) running as Race 5 at 2:50pm (AEST) where the injury enforced withdrawal of #1 Manighar has left Underwood Stakes winning Kiwi Ocean Park dominating the betting markets.

Race 6 then sees Gai Waterhouse’s glamour mare More Joyous shoot for her ninth Group 1 victory when she attempts to lump 60kg to victory in the $400,000 Group 1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at 3:30pm (AEST), a race she won two years ago.

Finally the day’s namesake race will jump at 4:10pm (AEST) with the $1 million Group 1 BECK Caulfield Guineas (1600m) where another Waterhouse-trained shortie in Pierro will shoot for his ninth career win, the undefeated champ the shortest-priced Caulfield Guineas betting favourite in history.
