Thoroughbred Club Stakes 2012 – Final Field and Barrier Draw

Fifteen horses have accepted for the Group 3 2012 Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1200m) which will take place as part of a bumper Caulfield Guineas Day card this Saturday.

Hoss Amor

Hoss Amor tops the Thoroughbred Club Stakes field

There is no shortage of talent amongst the field of youngsters, with Champagne Stakes runner-up Hoss Amor heading the group.

The second to Snitzerland was just the first start of the spring for the John O’Shea-trained filly who has won four of seven starts including three times at stakes level during the Brisbane Winter Carnival.

One of her more high profile rivals is Elite Elle who won the first four starts of her career before finishing fourth in both the McNeil Stakes and the Champagne Stakes.

Her task of returning to the winner’s circle will not be easy this weekend after drawing barrier 12 for the $150,000 event.

Sydney trainer Gerald Ryan will be hoping Cavalry Rose can turn her spring around with the Charge Forward filly finishing eight first-up in the Silver Shadow Stakes before running a distant fourth in the Reginald Allen Quality.

Consistent filly Saturn Rock will be having third start of the spring and will be out to get one back on Hoss Amor after placing behind her twice during the winter and also in the Champagne Stakes.

There are two last-start winners in the field with Chris Hylan’ds Zoria and Nigel Blackiston’s Sheza Single Girl both stepping up in class after showing promise at provincial tracks.

Other Thoroughbred Club Stakes acceptors include Peter Moody-trained filly Mareeza, Anthony Freedman’s Armed For Action and Queensland youngster Snipzu.
