2012 Epsom Handicap Day Race Scratchings

Today it is Sydney’s turn to host a super Saturday of racing with Royal Randwick Racecourse running an all black type program headlined by four Group 1 showdowns, the meeting’s current scratchings listed below.

Fat Al

Fat Al is favourite in today's feature race, the 2012 Epsom Handicap

The action at Randwick kicks off today with the $100,000 Listed Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) for the two-year-old fillies at 12:10pm and continues right through until Race 90 – the $200,000 Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) at 5:20pm.

The race card is littered with elite level racing action, the last Group 1’s of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival, the first of which is Race 5 at 2:40pm, the $400,000 Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) where Gai Waterhouse’s undefeated youngster Proisir will jump the favourite.

Next up is Race 6 at 3:20pm, the $400,000 Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) for the three-year-old fillies with Dear Demi and Norzita fighting for favouritism.

Then the day’s namesake race will steal the show at 4:00pm when the $500,000 Group 1 The Star Epsom Handicap (1600m) featuring the likes of Fat Al, Shoot Out and Rangirangdoo will face off in Race 7.

The Group 1 racing action finishes up then at 4:40pm with the $400,000 Group 1 The Metropolitan (2400m) featuring a bumper field of 2012 Caulfield Cup hopes.

Below are the full race scratchings for today’s meeting with all betting markets open now at bookmaker.com.au – home of the famous $400 bonus welcome bet offer.
