With the AFL season now over, all the focus in Melbourne is now on spring racing and we are in for a treat today with 2012 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes day.
The meeting is of course headlined by the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) but also features a number of other highlights including the Group 3 2012 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) and the Listed 2012 Testa Rossa Stakes (1200m).
They are the only three stakes races on the card but there is plenty of quality getting about in other events with many horses out to press their claims for bigger things later on in the spring.
The track has been rated a Good 3 which means there have been limited scratchings across the entire card which should ensure a top day’s racing in the Victorian capital.
