Shannon Stakes Day 2012 – Rosehill Gardens Race Scratchings

The first race at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse’s Shannon Stakes Day is due to jump at 12.40pm AEST today September 29, 2012.

Of the four Group races on the card, only the Group 3 Golden Pendant 2012 has seen a race scratching.

Pane In The Glass has been withdrawn from the $250,000 race, leaving just five fillies and mares to fight it out for the prize.

She will instead run in the Group 2 Shannon Stakes at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse today.

The four-year-old has posted two disappointing results so far this spring, finishing seventh in both the Listed Show County Quality and the Listed Sheraco Stakes.

Pane In The Glass has won four of her 16 race starts and has earned more than $640,000 in prize money during her career.

Pane In The Glass

Pane In The Glass has been scratched from the 2012 Golden Pendant at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse today.

The Testa Rossa mare was in her best form during her two-year-old season, when she won the $250,000 Inglis Nursery and the $250,000 Inglis Classic.

After posting a multitude of Group placings during the autumn, she made a successful comeback to win the Group 3 Silver Shadow Stakes as a three-year-old filly.

She has finished no better than sixth during the past twelve months, sparking talk that the mare may be retired.

However, she is currently nominated for the Group 1 Epsom Handicap next weekend, along with the Group 1 Manikato Stakes and $1 million Patinack Farm Classic.
