Murwillumbah trainer Matthew Dunn is looking...
Love For Ransom will continue her road towards the Group 1 2012 Thousand Guineas (1600m) on Sunday when she contests the TMB Printing Handicap at (1400m) at Caulfield.
The Greg Eurell-trained filly shot to the top of Thousand Guineas markets on September 15 when she overcame a wide barrier to fly home and win the Boscastle Plate in her first Saturday test.
Jockey Glen Boss declared her the Thousand Guineas winner following the impressive performance and he will again partner her this weekend.
But the daughter of Red Ransom will have to overcome another bad barrier, drawing the widest in the 12-horse field.
“It was a race we were really looking forward to and then we come out with the same tragic barrier,” trainer Greg Eurell said.
While Eurell admits the lightly-raced filly will need some luck he is confident she has the ability to overcome that and continue on towards bigger spring targets.
“The filly’s come through the run terrific and I’m sure the step up to 1400m is not going to be a problem,” he said.
“She’s a super doer. She does terrific in the stable. One of her greatest assets is she is a very relaxed filly.
“The bigger track there at Caulfield will probably just help us with this barrier. Obviously she’s going to need a bit of luck but she’s a good filly and good horses seem to make their own luck.”
The unbeaten Love For Ransom will face a rematch with fellow Thousand Guineas hopeful Stella Lante who finished a neck behind her at Moonee Valley two weeks ago.
Stella Lante will also have to overcome a poor barrier draw, having drawn one barrier inside the Thousand Guineas favourite.
