Shoot Out Wins George Main Stakes 2012 – Race 6 Results

Shoot Out won the race ahead of stable mate Rangirandoo, while Secret Admirer rounded out the placings in third.

Chris Waller was over the moon with the result in today’s 2012 George Main Stakes.

“They just don’t know how to get beaten,” Waller said of his successful duo.

The trainer switched Shoot Out’s racing gear to winkers from his usual blinkers, which turned out to be the right decision.

“Blinkers fire a horse up,” Waller said.

“I thought the horse was a touch keen in the Doncaster.

“I think the winkers was the right call.”

Shoot Out will now go on towards the Group 1 Epsom Handicap at Randwick on October 6, 2012, before heading down to Melbourne.

“We had to get today out of the way,” Waller said.

“We’ll be looking towards Melbourne as well if we can.

“I think he’s got a pretty good weight in the Epsom.”

Jockey Hugh Bowman guided Shoot Out to today’s 2012 George Main Stakes win.

“There’s just no bottom to him,” Bowman said.

“(Rangirangdoo) couldn’t get back past me and then I was really confident.

“It’s just a privilege to ride such a horse.

“Chris (Waller) has done a great job and it’s a credit to the whole team.”

All Too Hard, who was well backed in the 2012 George Main Stakes betting to secure his first Group 1 win, finished fourth.
