The spring is in full swing now with action-packed cards in both Sydney and Melbourne and one of the highlights in the harbour city is the Group 1 2012 George Main Stakes (1600m).
Just eight horses will line up in the Sydney feature but it is set to be a high quality contest with all but two runners having recorded Group 1 success.
Holding slight favouritism is Epsom winner Secret Admirer ($4.00) who is just ahead of Chris Waller-trained pair Shoot Out ($4.40) and Danleigh and much-hyped colt All Too Hard ($5.00).
Other horses in the market are Waller’s 2010 Doncaster winner Rangirangdoo ($7.00), Somepin Anypin ($10.00), Yosei ($15.00) and Quintessential ($101.00).

#1 Shoot Out $4.40
Running first-up and others may have a fitness advantage but Waller has given him three trials to tune him up.
Absolutely oozes class this six-year-old and seemed to be getting better with age last preparation where he didn’t miss a place from five starts and won the Group 1 Chipping Norton and finished second in the Doncaster.
Hugh Bowman was aboard for the entire autumn campaign and he returns to the saddle this weekend where he will give the son of High Chaparral every chance.
Rangirangdoo may not have won since last year’s George Ryder Stakes but he is far from done yet. Produced a narrow second to Manighar in the autumn in the Ranvet Stakes and kicked off his spring campaign in solid fashion when fourth in the Tramway Handicap.
Typically performs well second up so should be ready to fire here.
Secret Admirer is getting close to copping the “bridesmaid” tag and that is why she should not be left out of the top three here. She hasn’t won since last year’s Epsom and has only three wins from 18 starts but has placed on 11 other occasions.
