Spring Stakes 2012 – Final Field & Barrier Draw

The final field and barrier draw has been announced for the Group 3 Spring Stakes, which will take place at Newcastle Racecourse this Wednesday September 19, 2012.

Eight horses will line up for the race, including Peter Snowden’s Limes.

Limes has won one of his seven race starts and has earned close to $100,000 in prize money.

The Commands colt has placed in both the Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes and Group 1 Inglis Sires’ Produce Stakes during the autumn racing carnival.

Limes will be out to win his first Group race of his career in the 2012 Spring Stakes this weekend.

He has drawn barrier four for the 2012 Spring Stakes and will be ridden by jockey Peter Robl.

Proisir will also be looking to extend his unbeaten race record with a win in the 2012 Spring Stakes.

The three-year-old won his first start at Hawkesbury Racecourse in August before winning the $85,000 TVN Jockey’s Trust last run.

The Choisir colt has already earned more than $68,000 in prize money and will be looking to add to that in the 2012 Spring Stakes.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained colt has drawn barrier one for the 2012 Spring Stakes and will be ridden by jockey Nash Rawiller in the race.

Proverb, Trophies and Sumarand are also included in the 2012 Spring Stakes final field and barrier draw.
